How Did the Primaried Texas House Republicans Fare?



Among the twenty-two challenged Republican Texas House incumbents, six challengers won outright, and one challenger—former Dallas City Councilmember Linda Koop, forced incumbent Stefani Carter into a runoff on May 27th. The average percentage of the vote for the winning challengers was 53; the average winning percentage of the vote for incumbents was 66.6. Among the winning incumbents, only Myra Crownover and Angie Chen Button received less than 55 percent of the vote. Among the winning challengers, only Tony Tinderholt won more than 55 percent of the vote. Travis Clady garnered the highest percentage of the vote among winning incumbents, receiving 84 percent of the vote.
