Fundraising by Challengers to Primaried House Republicans (Part II)
The remaining challengers to House Republican incumbents
raised more money than the first group. But they still are not in the same
league with the incumbents.

Sam Brown, who is among three Republicans challenging Stefanie
Carter, raised the largest amount in campaign contributions and has the second
largest amount of money remaining. However, Stefanie Carter raised the most
money among the challenged incumbents and had $178,579 remaining at the end of
2013. Rodney Anderson, who had the largest expenditures among the group, used
$50,000 to pay back a loan that he made to his campaign. The average raised and
remaining cash-on-hand was better for this group of challengers than the first
group; however, the figures are nowhere near the amount raised by the
incumbents.
With only six weeks remaining until the primary election,
the challengers don’t have a lot of time to make their case to the potential
voters in the Republican primary election.
